There are likely several professional security staffing companies in your area.   Or, if you are acquainted with a local police officer, he or she may be willing to volunteer services for little to no charge.  With someone else in charge of disturbances, you’re suddenly free to enjoy festivities and give tours of your with peace of mind.  Keeping an eye on dozens of individuals, even hundreds in extreme cases, is too tall a job for the average civilian.   Theft, underage drinking, illegal substances, disorderly conduct can all get lost in a crowd.  And don’t think worries are over when it’s time to go home, as guests may try to take their car home while not in the proper state of mind.  There is no shame in bringing in some outside help in on special occasions, so a good time can be had by all in attendance, including the host, with no day-after regrets.
